I have just had a wonderful email from a lovely man who is French living in Thailand who makes the most beautiful french dollshouses for a hobby. I was so inspired by his amazing work that I thought I would share it with you - I also know that some of you will be itching to know more about him.....

HIs name is Patrick Duclou and in his spare time he creates these stunning french dolls houses which is quite a feat as he lives in Thailand where he teaches English! His blog site is or facebook siams Miniatures. I think you will agree that his work is wonderful and his finish on the exterior of the buildings is fantastic.

....cant wait to see what he is making next and his block shows us how he creates such wonderful facades.....

He has a video too could not believe it when the video panned into the bathroom where I saw my mums (lilianne Miniatures) bath and taps that she used to make!!

Also a great little video...

On the weekend we attended our very first mini show with our furniture and wallpapers at miniatura and what a great weekend. We met lots of lovely mini collectors and had some terrific feedback about the furniture and wallpaper...thank you to everyone who purchased something, placed an order or will be coming to see us at our next show.

I always pop back to this website from time to time just for inspiration, ideas  and also to admire Davids incredible advice. If you enjoy making and learning then you will find his help and tips invaluable - where to find products, how to use them, how to create textures, what materials work best and so forth. The site is vast with loads of links and some really great warned though! You will be on his site for hours!

Just looking on Pinterest (you know how it goes - one minute you are checking emails and before you know it you have spent half an hour googling!) and saw this amazing maker of food.....I know there is some really great stuff out there but I really like this for its that rather yummy loaf of bread..which reminds me that I need to do a shop!

This is my four poster bed:

I can not fit in it alas! 12th scale minis only.....The little bed was designed from many many different French architectural elements - the bird finials on the top are copies from my 18th C. mirror, the rose swags are traditional elements seen on many french Antiques etc. I am thinking about making a little foam mattress for the bed (uncovered) so you will be able to cover it and make bedding...however I know that I wont be able to stop myself from making a few drapes and doing a few bespoke beds with soft silk drapery and deep plump cushions dented by a good nights sleep...maybe even have a little mini person in bed....picked up a lovely little French Antique hanky on Braodway last week and as I have a box full of old antique fabric and lace I might give it a go!

HI guys..this is my first blog ever but I wanted to tell you about me and my minis and let you into what I do, what I like and maybe share a few little things with you.....

Today I am struggling with design v's construction. My little mini chair and sofa is developing nicely but I hit a bit of a barrier - the silk edging is showing which means that I am going to have to modify the original slightly.....This is a prototype and I shall need to modify before I can sell any....

I love little French chairs...this one is a particular favourite as it is slightly larger than the normal French Armchair and is more relaxing. The little curved legs and detailing at the top work well I think.....or maybe that is one for you to judge when it is finished...wont be long I hope....
