A4 MARIE ANTOINETTE CHAIR FABRIC DESIGN 12TH SCALE (without edging) - another listing included the main pattern and edging.

This is truly a stunning pattern from the 18th century and can be seen upholstered onto the rare chair designed for Marie Antoinette.

The pattern was extracted not from the chair but from a very old sample of textile whic had been used during the upholstery of the chair, much warn and faded. The chair provided the vibrant colours for the design and so the pattern was redrawn and digitally crafted and coloured to produce this wonderful design.

The pattern size will suit the chair size allowing for a motif to sit in the centre of the seat and back. However it is equally suitable to be used as wallpaper - wow that would be stunning - a chair and wallpaper - maybe even curtains and drapes - oooh la la!

History

A few notes about the chairs history: The following information about the chair was extracted from  https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/marie-antoinette-louis-xvi-gilt-wood-chair

Christie’s has announced an extremely rare lot up for auction on July 9 in London: a Louis XVI gilt-wood fauteuil en bergère that was designed for Marie Antoinette estimated at $459,000 to $766,000. The chair was made by François II Foliot, after a 1780 model by Jacques Gondoin, and features a sculpture by either Pierre-Edmé Babel or Toussaint Foliot. “It is a rare privilege to handle the sale of this exquisite and historic chair, which is an incredible piece of royal history,” says Amelia Walker of Christie’s London. “It was made for one of Marie Antoinette’s most personal retreats at Versailles, the Pavillon Belvédère in the jardin anglais at the Petit Trianon. This chair was part of the most expensive suite of seat furniture ever supplied to the queen, and is the only armchair to have survived.”According to Christie’s, Marie Antoinette requested seating “in the very latest taste,” and court designer Gondoin provided her with a wax model for the armchair, complete with upholstery samples. The model still exists and is on display at the Louvre. The suite is known to have cost 20,000 livres and was later sold post-French revolution

Do you want me to print it?

This design is also available as a printed version.

The Print

I suggest printing on good quality matt paper with a weight of around 180gsm. This is a nice heavy weight of paper and will not wrinkle or twist when gluing to the wall of your dollshouse.

UK A4 size but if you are printing USA letter size then adjust your print setttings in your printer and the printer will be able to print USA letter size with some cropping to the bottom of the print

The pattern does not repeat and so you will need to cut carefully to ensure a pattern repeat if you are joining edges.

If you have any issues downloading the jpeg then contact me and I can email you the Jpegs.

You will not receive anything in the post.

This listing is for a digital download only. You will receive a link to download a pdf. All images are clear and good resolution and wont appear pixilated if printing the sheet at A4 size. Once you have downloaded your image you can then save it to a suitable file on your computer ready for printing. Please contact me if you have any difficulties.

The size of the print is  A4. This makes it convenient for printing on any standard paper and in most printers.

How to use them

The jpeg/pdf can be used in so many ways. Not only as wallpaper but you could print onto cloth and use as fabric for chairs and curtains. Or maybe use the prints to line the inside of beautiful cabinets or cover a box or chest.
