Very accurate 12th scale late 19th century circa 1880 tailors mannequin.

This item is available in both a painted finish as seen and also as a kit ready for painting.

The mannequin shows a typical wasp waist style which would have been achieved by forcing the body into the exagerated shape using a corset. I love the extremes of this shape which create a large exagerated bust line, an extremely small waist and a rounded bottom which would havebeen emphasised even further using a caged or padded bustle. Both the corset and the bustle could be recreated in 12th scale and added to the mannequin - I have added 3 images of real life full scale mannequins wearing late 19th century corsets and bustles.

The mannequin would have been used to tailor dresses.

The base is removeable

The mannequin is cast from resin and the base is metal alloy.
